In October 2025, Microsoft will officially end support for Windows 10. That means no more security updates, bug fixes, or compliance support. And for many schools, that’s a major issue.
Most school laptops won’t meet Windows 11 hardware requirements — especially in regional or low-SES areas. Schools will be faced with two options:
- Replace their laptops entirely, or
- Run unsupported systems and risk security breaches, downtime, and non-compliance.
Neither of those are good options. That’s why we created CReSED.
CReSED is a complete education operating system based on Ubuntu Pro. It’s built to replicate the Microsoft experience — but without the cost, complexity, or forced hardware upgrades. It includes:
- File sharing and storage (like OneDrive)
- User management (like Active Directory)
- Collaboration tools (like SharePoint)
- Document editing (compatible with Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
And it all runs on devices as old as 7–10 years.
We’re currently inviting schools to trial our beta version. If you want to future-proof your school’s technology without blowing your budget, CReSED could be the answer.
