At Digital Education Systems, we didn’t set out to build an operating system. We set out to solve a problem we saw every day: good laptops sitting idle because they couldn’t handle another Windows upgrade.
For years, schools have been stuck in a cycle of rising costs and shrinking support. Windows 10 is reaching end-of-life in 2025, and many school laptops simply won’t meet the requirements of Windows 11. That means spending thousands to replace perfectly functioning devices.
CReSED — Cloud-Ready Secure Education Distribution — was our response. Built on Ubuntu Pro, it’s a full operating system designed specifically for schools. It includes cloud storage, collaboration tools, an office suite, user login and device management — and most importantly, it works with the laptops schools already own.
We didn’t build CReSED to win awards. We built it to help students keep learning, even when the IT budget is tight.
Our pilot program is now open. Want to see if your school is a fit? Let’s talk.
